When Mom asks me to “come”… “sit”… or, “stay”… I act like I do not hear her. To make her believe this is so, I do not twitch an ear, move my body or, most importantly, not turn my head toward her. Of course I hear her and I know what she is asking me to do but sometimes I do not want to do what she wants me to do. I also act disinterested when she spells words. I do not want her to know I understand exactly what she is saying. This gives me time to hide behind the couch when I hear words including v-e-t, m-e-d-i-c-in-e, or b-a-t-h. However, I almost gave myself away this morning. I heard Mom spell t-r-e-a-t and I beat her to the biscuit jar.
